Orlando police officers now will wear new body cameras that turn on when they draw their service weapons or use their Tasers on calls.
A Florida police department is equipping its officers with new state-of-the-art body cameras.
Orlando officers now will wear bodycams that turn on when they draw their service weapons or use their Tasers, WESH-TV reports. The new cameras—more than $6 million worth of them purchased by the department—also activates every officers' camera when only one officer's bodycam turns on during an incident.
"It's a great thing to know that you have it as a backup to tell your story," said Chief Orlando Rolon during a demonstration of the new cameras Thursday.
